The propulsion system will offer smaller engines, and will most likely be from the Ecotec family.

2016 Chevrolet Cruze under the hood hides 1.4L turbo engine that frees 140 horsepower and 173 lb-ft of torque. The second engine is a 1.5-liter Ecotec turbo with 113 horsepower and 108 lb-ft of torque. Top offer is a 2.0-liter turbo diesel engine that delivers excellent performance. The engines will be paired with three types of transmission: DCG seven-speed transmission, six-speed gearbox developed in Europe and the third is a six-speed S6. Improved fuel consumption is 21% compared to the previous model. A similar engine range will be for the American market with possibilities some additional engines. A longer wheelbase will brings the necessary space between rows of seats and increased luggage. Production models will be performed at the factory GM in LORDSTOWN, Ohio. Direct competitors are the Honda Civic, Dodge Dart, Mazda 3 and others. Price has not yet been determined but will be within the limits of the previous model.
