Kia Optima is one of the best selling sedan models from Kia Motors. Since 2000 the model has been sold in a variety of nameplates including but not limited to Kia K5 for the Asian market, Kia Magnetis for the European market and Kia Lotze for South Korean markets. Basically, the core areas where Kia Motors is planning to make changes in the 2016 Kia Optima is the overall styling and design. The interior and exterior of are expected to get great changes most of which will be intended to make it more luxurious and durable. For example, the front façade will get a range of changes including the installation of LED-initiated headlights, lower-sited but more decent grille as well as stronger air intake vents. Unlike the current model, this model will use the refined Hyundai Sonata platform which is expected to increase its overall body size. 2016 Kia Optima Engine Options
Power generation for the 2016 Kia Optima will be handled by three engine options. The first option is a 2.4L 4-cylinder inline powertrain generating 181 pounds-feet at 4200 rpm and 192 horses of power at 6300 rpm. The next engine preference will be a 2.0L turbocharged inline engine that is able to generate 269 pounds-feet at a speed of 4500 rpm and 274 horses of power at 6000 rpm. The last option will be a 1.6L turbocharged engine. Power transmission will be handled by a six-speed electronically controlled transmission. The levels of CO2 emission in this model are expected to decrease by not less than 20% while the fuel efficient rate is expected to increase. For all the models, the fuel economy is expected to range between 20-23 mpg city and 32-34 mpg highway.
